- Description
- TO ALL INTERESTED VENDORS: The need for clarification across several areas has been brought to my attention. Below are the questions posed and the answers received. Due to the late reply in providing answers, this office has extended the due date for proposals to next Wednesday, 22 September, 2010, 1200 MST. NEW DUE DATE Wednesday 22 Sept, 2010 1 - Is Cannon AFB looking for video surveillance cameras to work in conjunction with the call boxes? A--We would like something that could take a picture when the call box button is pressed so if there are any fraudulent calls placed, the individual that placed the call could possibly be identified 2 - Are the call boxes to be positioned indoors or outdoors, and if they are outdoors, is there enough sunlight for the solar panels to receive at least 4 hours per day of direct sunlight? A--The call boxes would be placed outside, and the current proposed locations would allow for plenty of sunlight (at least 4 hours per day) 3 - Is the job solely for the manufacture of the call boxes or also for the installation work? A-- The job initially called out for just the manufacturing and acquisition of call boxes, but if finances allow, we would like the installation as well. The quotes that we received from some of the vendors were only for the equipment. 4 - Are the J bolts and the template to be powder coated or are the call boxes to be powder coated. A--The call boxes are to be powder coated 5 - We are not sure what is meant by a one button phone model call box. Our call boxes are one button portable radio operated call boxes, self contained and are sealed enclosures which are weather proof. A--The one button call box that is described above is what we are looking for. Something that will tie into the existing radio system that will notify security forces of an incident. 6 - We not sure what PLC- 9 10" Square with radius corners indicates. I am assuming it means the dimensions of the boxes. An example of the dimensions on one of our boxes, A1410 means the box is 14" wide and 10 feet tall. The A1010 is 10" wide and 10 feet tall. A--It is the dimensions of the box 7 - Are the J bolts and the template for the ground installation of the call boxes? A--Yes. They will be used for the ground installation 8 - Since these units will be free standing outdoor units, I would assume you are going to keep them "green" by choosing Solar Power as your power option? A--Yes, because of the location of some of the call boxes, solar power would be more economical 9. Item 003-AA J Bolts and Template Powder Coated Safety Yellow with a quantity of 4....Is this for the base of the towers for installation? If so, wouldn't you need a total of 13 for all the towers? A - Yes, we would need to be 13.
