Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This notice is being posted as an avenue to provide Request for Quotes W912HN-10-T-0110. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.202 (a) (13), Exceptions to publicizing contract actions, there will not be a pre-solicitation notice posted for this required action. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information in this notice. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; QUOTES ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This solicitation is reserved exclusively for small business concerns. The solicitation number is W912HN-10-T-0110, and the solicitation is issued as a request for Quote (RFQ). The NAICS code is 334290 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. This solicitation document incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-43. Description of Requirement: The contractor shall furnish all materials and services to deliver and install a Lencore Acoustics sound masking system to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, 69 Darlington Avenue, Wilmington, North Carolina, 28403. This is a brand name acquisition in accordance with 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented in FAR 6.302(1)(c) and FAR 11.105. No other manufacturers sound masking system will meet the capability requirements needed by the Wilmington District. CONTRACT LINE ITEM NUMBERS 01 Lencore Acoustics Spectra iNet System with Paging Option 02 Design, installation and tuning of system 03 Freight The system (including server, phone/intercom connection and handheld remote control unit) is already installed in Quad 3 of the office; only the equipment necessary to expand capability through remaining office Quads and tie back into the existing central control server and music page interface equipment is required. The total area to be covered by the sound masking system is approximately 37,500 square feet. The building features drop tile ceilings with a five foot plenum. The system shall meet ASTM (E-1130) standards for speech privacy, be UL listed, and energy efficient. The individual speakers/sound generators shall mount within the plenum and have independent volume control. It shall be capable of separately and independently configuring zones for sound masking, paging, and music, with a global muting capability to allow paging to override the sound masking. The system shall be able to be accessed and controlled remotely from outside the building. A standard or one year warranty is required. Installation is to occur during non-business hours. Previous experience installing the specific model is required. Delivery of equipment is required no later than 30 September 2010. Must match existing sound masking equipment (Lencore Acoustics Spectra iNet System with Paging Option) which is designed to enhance speech privacy and productivity in the office environment.
