Description
Q1) Will the 100% design drawings from HDR Engineering, Inc. be provided to the winning bidder in AutoCAD format? A1. AutoCAD drawings will be provided to successful bidder. Q2) If so, will the drawings be unlocked (not read-only) so that they may be used to create the As-Builts? A2. Drawings will be unlocked and can be used for as-builts. Q3) The cover sheet states that the drawing set is "For Construction". However, the Fire Protection sheets of the drawing set, FP100 through FP109, contain the disclaimer that "These concept drawings are for information only to show potential system arrangement. Contractor shall field verify all information contained on these drawings and is responsible for the design and installation of the system IAW the specifications." 1) Should bidders include costs to design the fire protection system? 2) Will a "Design" performance period be added in addition to the 220 CD for construction? A3. Project fire protection drawings and specifications are procurement documents. Contractor shall provide professionally stamped fire protection system shop drawings/system design per requirements stated in project drawings, specifications, and UFC 3-600-01. Shop drawings shall be submitted per contractor’s approved submittal schedule. Q4) Reference: Attachment #3; Technical Specification; Section 08 71 00; paragraph 3.6; Hardware Sets. The door hardware schedule for 14 doors is prefaced with the statement: "(Coordinate hardware with Base Access Control System - Door to be card reader operated and alarmed with BMS - security hardware to be installed by others.)" Questions: 1) What is the "Base Access Control System"? Is it user supplied or Contractor supplied? 2) What "security hardware" will be installed by others? A4. Access Control System for facility (main panel, electronic card readers, key pads) will be Government furnished and installed. Specified door hardware, balanced magnetic switches, and conduit/junctions boxes for ACS are Contractor furnished and installed. Q5) Telecommunication Plan sheets ET102 and ET105 reference CAT 6 cable. Telecommunication Plan sheets ET102 and ET104 reference CAT 6E cable. Question: Which type of cable is to be used for this project; CAT 6 or CAT 6E. A5. Provide CAT 6 cable per project specifications.
