- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulations Subpart 12.6, as applicable as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 7 Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center, 1 Freedom Way, Augusta, GA 30903, requires the rebuilding/refurbishment of Buxton Cage washer (Better Built 6200 Rack and Cage Washer) Unit with Computer Control on site. Work shall be performed on-site to include: all new electrical components, new control panel, new gaskets on all parts and new piping where required dismantling the existing washer and replacing all required assemblies, fittings and components. Installation to include the following: (1) Install new Better built microprocessor control with touch screen panel. (2) Install one 2-inch ball valve and two 1-inch Burkert Steam Valves. (3) Install new SMC pneumatic air bank. (4) Rebuild Aurora 71/2 HP stainless steel wash pump. (5) Rebuild Hexiflo heat exchanger. (6) Replace all door shocks. (7) Replace ¾ steam line with 1-inch steam line. (8) Install new three phase disconnect on machine. (9) Rebuild seven spray head assemblies. All work must meet or exceed all standards for proper cleaning and sanitation of cages including temperatures to be maintained at 180 degrees for proper sanitation as required by DHHS PHS policies. The period of performance will be October 15, 2010 through Oct 31, 2010. This solicitation will result in a firm fixed-price contract. This procurement is 100% small business set aside. The Request for proposal (RFP) number is VA-247-10-RP-0334. The applicable NAICS code is 811412; small business size standard $16.5 Million dollars. When issued the solicitation will be available by downloading form the Federal Business Opportunities website at https://www.fbo.gov/ The estimated issue date is September 10, 2010 with an anticipated closing date of September 20, 2010 at 4:00pm eastern standard time. Provision at FAR 52.212-2 Evaluation- Commercial Items: Offers will be evaluated using the best value selection method. Warranty: One (1) or more year(s) full warranty on all parts and 90 days or more on all labor is required. Price: shall include all shipping, transportation, and materials and shall be deemed fair and reasonable. Past Performance: Offerors shall submit three (3) references written on company letterhead of showing relevant past performance history in providing the same or similar service as described herein. Written references shall include point of contact name, telephone number and specific type of service performed. The selected Offeror must comply with the following commercial item terms and conditions, which are incorporated herein by reference: FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors - Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition; FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications - Commercial Items - the selected offeror must submit a completed copy of the listed representations and certifications; FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions - Commercial Items; FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required To Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items, paragraph (a) and the following clauses in paragraph (b): 52.222-21, 52.222-26, 52.222-35, 52.222-36, 52.222-37, 52.225-13, 52.232-34. Security Clause: FAR 52.224-1-2; VAAR 852.273-5 applies.
