Description
Veterans Benefits Administration - Information Technology Cabling Contract Scope of Work - VBA, Muskogee Oklahoma Regional Office A.1 Background The VBA Regional Office resides at 125 S. Main Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma 74401. Currently Social Security Administration (SSA) is occupying part of the 1st floor space at this address. SSA is expected to move and this area will need to be cabled for integration into our Local Area Network. 1. In order to support the use of space at 125 S. Main Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma 74401, the necessary Information Technology (IT) infrastructure needs to be installed. This will include horizontal CAT 6 data cable runs to each location in the new space. 2.A total of 269 data lines will need to be run from the existing communications closet on the 1st floor to individual locations in each specified area. 3. Install home run suspended cable tray through facility per design. Connect tray and racks to customer provided ground located in Comm. room. Bond each section of tray with ground wire. 4.All cost, including provisions, delivery, installation and configuration of proposed requirements will be provided. A.2 Cable Plant Installation Requirements. A.2.1 High Speed Wire Plant: Cable (CAT6) 1. Cable installation of 269 UTP plenum CAT 6 drops to designated locations, including the following: install in specific VBA-approved race ways, where race ways are available; bundle and secure from the rack of origin; route and branch to the specified outlet termination location. Cable termination of installed UTP plenum CAT6 cable pairs at rack termination shelf and outlet location end, including certification and drop labeling at rack termination shelf and with an outlet location per designated naming convention. The cable label naming convention in the closet is defined in section 4 of the VBA Regional Office Cabling Design Guideline. Changes may be made to standardize the naming convention and color code of the existing infrastructure. All changes shall be approved by the IRM Project POC. A.2.2 Cable Tray Installation 1. Aluminum tray, 24" wide on main runs from the closet and 18" wide on other runs. Tray rail height is 4" with a 3" load capacity. Tray has rungs that are spaced on 6" centers. The rail flange is 1" wide. The Tray is a Nema Load Class C and when supported every 8 feet has a Safe Load Rating of 225 lbs. The Ground is established in the Data closet with a Ground bar kit that is bonded to building Structure. The tray sections are also grounded at connection points with #8 wire and crimp on eye connectors. A.3 Facility Requirements 1. This cabling and cable infrastructure installation must be accomplished adhering to applicable national, state and local electrical codes and industry standards for the type of cabling used. The vendor is responsible for all necessary permits for all work associated with this project. The installed cabling must be tested and certified. The cable certification must be provided to the VBA IRM Project Lead. 2. A site project manager must be assigned during this installation to manage the daily installation activities and be the point of contact (POC) for the VBA IRM Project Lead. 3. All cabling must be placed either in the installed cable trays or in the provided conduit. In the event that neither is available, cable bundles will be neatly tied and secured with the VBA Project Lead determining that fact. A.4 Materials to be supplied by Cabling Contractor 1. Applicable CAT 6 Plenum data cable 2. Applicable CAT 6 patch panels 3. All applicable hardware for termination including surface mount boxes, faceplates, jack, etc. 4. All cable trays and associated equipment 5. 20 - 7' CAT 6 patch cables, Red in color, booted 6. 30 - 7' CAT 6 patch cables, Grey in color, booted 7. 60 - 5' CAT 6 patch cables, Grey in color, booted 8. 90 - 10' CAT 6 patch cables, Blue in color, booted 9. 90 - 10' CAT 6 patch cables, Grey in color, booted A.5 Required References 1.
