- Description
- RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009, A COMPETITIVE NEW CONTRACT, FOR RESEARCH ANDDEVELOPMENT (R&D), TO SGT INC; CONTRACT NUMBER NNA10DE83C. The R&D efforts will result ina safety assurance approach and tool for the automated generation of safety cases fromformal verification and additional informal artifacts. This will include an openlyavailable framework for the specification of such safety related artifacts. <P>NASA Ames Research Center has committed support for specific efforts under the AmericanRecovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Recovery Act funds for NASA's Aviation SafetyProgram focuses on the objective of improved comprehension by many participants in safetyassurance by integrating formal and informal reasoning and ensuring that system levelsafety requirements allocated to software may be traced to the actual code. NextGen willbring amny unprecendented challenges of complexityl this work will address this byhelping to integrate diverse sources of information, for the purpose of safety assurance.NASA Research Announcement (NRA), NNH09ZEA001N-VVFCS1, sought proposals that woudlsupport and identify designing functions of a critical element of future aviationsystems; namley automation of heterogeneous safety cases, per NASA's Recovery Act ProgramPlan for Aviation Safety Program.
