- *****SEND ALL INFORMATION IN WRITING TO TIM CARSON AT tim.carson@nasa.gov, FAX:256-544-5028******* NASA/MSFC has a requirement for Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) Monochromator, 1 EA.NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from Horiba Jobin-Yvon (JY), Edison, NJ, on asole source basis. (1) The JY monochromator is the only single grating solution thatcovers the operational wavelength range of the SUVI instrument and meets the Governmentsrequirements. (2)The JY TGM1900 is the only single-grating solution that delivers therequired spectral resolution at each of the SUVI wavebands to conduct spectrally resolvedensquared energy, out-of-band response, scattered light, and photometric accuracytesting. (3) JYs TGM is the only monochromator available that meets the testingrequirements while maintaining the necessary optical efficiency across the entirewavelength range.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon September 13, 2010.Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
