Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons, U.S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners, Springfield, Missouri, intends to make a Sole Source award under FAR Part 6.302-1 to Abbott Nutrition, 4905 Hawthorne Way, Springdale, AR 72762, for Nepro with Carb Steady nutritional supplement 'or equal' item that meet the minimum requirements established. Or equal product shall be a nutritional supplement that provides complete nutrition (meeting 100% of the RDIs) at a calorie level of 2000 or less. The vitamin and mineral profile shall be designed for people on dialysis (providing 1500 ml of fluid or less, 3000 mg of potassium or less, and 1200 mg of phosphorus or less). The requirements include delivery of 8 oz cans, 24 cans per case, with 200 cases delivered by the 1st of each month. Total estimated annual requirement is 2400 cases. This is an estimate only. Quantities are not guaranteed. Actual quantity ordered shall be billed. The procurement will be a firm-fixed priced purchase order for the anticipated period of 10/01/10 through 09/30/11. This acquisition is Unrestricted and FOB destination. Delivery shall be made to the U.S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners, 1900 W. Sunshine Street, Springfield, Missouri. Any vendor who believes they can meet these requirements shall provide written notification to the Contracting Officer by September 13, 2010, 8 a.m. CST. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements listed and must show competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses received will be evaluated by our Dieticians; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice will solely be at the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the sole source procurement to Abbott Nutrition. Faith-Based and Community Based Organizations have the right to submit offers/quotes equally with other organizations for contracts which they are eligible.
