- The US Army Armament Research and Development Command (ARDEC) BenetLaboratories, located at Watervliet Arsenal, Watervliet, New York isseeking capabilities statements from firms that can provide tooling and tool materials to be used in the explosive bonding process. This includes industrial and material supplies to be used for metalworking and manufacturing. Firms shall provide materials to be used as donor tubes for the cladding process as well as tooling used for cutting tools in the machining of explosive bonding coatings. The donor tube materials include tantalum and tantalum / tungsten tubes that are used in the cladding of medium and large caliber gun barrels. In addition, firms shall provide cutting tools, broaches, and two-point cutters that work well with tantalum and tantalum refractory metals. This notice is open to all business concerns; however, the government intends to evaluate and award BPAs to small business concerns. In the event that there are not enough responses from small businesses the government will consider awarding to large business concerns. The Government may enter into one or multiple Blanket Purchase Agreements as a result of this notice. TELEPHONE INQUIRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Firms/companies are invited to indicate their interest by providing a description of their capabilities along with specifications, brochures, manuals, reports, information pertaining to experience on previous contracts for similar supplies/services and other technical data. The Government will accept written questions by email only. Submittals and questions should be directed to the following point of contact: US Army Contracting Command, Attn., CCJM-JA, Bldg. 10, Picatinny, NJ 07806-5000, e-mail katelyn.a.warren@us.army.mil. The Government will not be issuing a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) because this is a Blanket Purchase Agreement. In addition, the Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this notice. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this notice.
