Description
The answers to questions asked. 1) I noticed the Place of Performance is in Maryland. Would this be the whole team or can part of the team be located in Tampa, FL? The whole team must be located in MD. 2) What is future technologies direction and roadmap to the existing systems? Our direction continues to shift. Most applications/systems will be enhanced at the request of the end-users. Some of them may be reengineered if resource and funding is permitted. 3) What is As-Is state of the existing systems, lines of code, documentation, age of system (how old is the code base). ? It depends on each application. Some pieces/modules of applications may have over 10 years code but some modules are only 1 year old since application teams optimize modules each time when they have chances. 4) For the future state of the system, are you looking into the latest trends in both the biotechnology space and information technology? Yes, we are interested. 5) Is the NLM following the NIH enterprise architecture bricks ? Yes, to the best our ability. 6) Does the NLM has any process in place for inserting the new technology/technologies ? We always try our best to adopt new technologies. However, we may not be able to re-engineer all applications due to the limited resources and funding. 7) Does the NLM have the infrastructure to support the new technologies and new trends in the industry? Overall, yes. 8) Is CMMI Level 3 appraisal or ISO 9000 must to bid on this contract? Offerors shall have standard certification such as CMMI Level 3 Appraisal, ISO 9001-2000 Certification or relevant experience. 9) How many total systems are to be maintained? We have 20 + applications/web sites plus ad-hoc applications 10) What are all the technologies need to be supported ?: Though the document shows the "Apache Web server, with Oracle 10g or 11g/RAC, ColdFusion or JRUN application servers and ColdFusion, Java, Perl, Java Script, JSP, PL/SQL, MySQL, etc. computer languages." It would be very helpful in providing the effective proposal, if you could explain the details of "computer languages", which is the primary skill set for the "System Analysts" All languages that the question mentioned are needed.
