The purchase will be to have them Process and analyze 23 benthic infauna samples collected on the northern Bering Sea shelf: this is to include: Processing and analyzing 23 benthic infauna samples collected on the northern Bering Sea shelf: • completely sort organisms from the samples • identify organisms to the lowest practical taxonomic level • count organisms in each taxon in each sample • weigh (wet weight, to 0.001 g) each taxon in each sample • record all sample data in electronic spreadsheet • assemble a reference collection of taxa in the samples • report all results in electronic documents EcoAnalysts, Inc. has served the needs of the aquatic monitoring community by providing accurate and timely taxonomic identification of macroinvertebrate samples, biological assessment and consulting services since 1995. It has extensive experience working with government agencies and private industry on environmental projects of the nature required in this solicitation. Their taxonomists are certified by the North American Benthological Society in Macroinvertebrate Taxonomy, and have expertise in Alaska and North Pacific infauna. They have previously provided the same service to NOAA on a similar project and performed excellently. Extensive research on benthic infauna stable isotope laboratories did not result in any other than organization that can provide the required preparation services for these specific types of samples. All sources eligible to provide this supply must respond in writing, response must be supported by clear and convincing evidence to clearly be able to provide services for products outlined above. A request for documentation will not be considered an affirmative response. If no responses are received, within 15 days after publication of this notice, to the effect that comparable services are available, and that it is more advantageous to the Government than obtaining these services through a sole-source contract, then a sole source acquisition award will be made. Response to this award is to be sent to Suzanne.Johnston@noaa.gov or to fax number (907) 789-6094.
