Description
Amendment 1: RFQ 10HQQQ0147 is hereby amended to extend the quotes due date to 1:00 PM EDT, Monday, August 30, 2010 and incorporate the following questions/answers and notes from the site visit. Questions/Answers and Notes from the site visit on 08/23/2010 - RFQ 10HQQQ0147 4th floor ADA ramp and awning QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS Question 1: If the contractor is unable to use the Emergency Light for the electrical, which electrical panel should they use? Answer 1: There are two available slots for breakers in the electrical panel on the 5th floor in room 5B200. Contractor may use the existing opening to run the electrical through the floor. Floor shall be patched up to be fire retardant. Question 2: Where would you like the thermostat to be relocated? Answer 2: Thermostat will not be relocated. Question 3: Is there asbestos under the tiles where the new ramp will be installed? Answer 3: Encapsulate tile beneath new ramp. Question 4: Is there a particular slope you require for the awning? Answer 4: There is no particular slope to be installed. Although contractor shall install an awning that does not allow water to collect on the top of the awning and will allow water to run away from the building. Question 5: Is there a particular type of awning to be installed? Answer 5: There is no particular awning USGS is requiring contractors install, so long as the awning quoted meets all specifications. Vendor is not required to use the vendor stated below: Per vendor requests at the site visit here is a company that USGS found while doing market research for this project. Contractors shall provide and quote an awning similar to one provided by Resource One Shelters, as follows: One (1) 8' x 5' Awning style Canopy (8' wide by 5' deep) Question 6: Shall the ADA automatic door opener be radio frequency or hardwired? Answer 6: Hardwired. NOTES and ADDITIONS TO THE STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW) -Addition to the SOW - Contractor shall quote on an All or None basis-When looking from the inside of the building to the outside the new ADA double doors shall be as follows: the left door shall be stationary and the right door automatic (to open)-On page 6 of 32 in the SOW under the "Demolition" section: Replace "The Contractor shall provide a minimum of 48 hours" with "The Contractor shall provide a minimum of 72 hours"-On page 7 of 32 in the SOW under the "Concrete" section: Replace "Rip a pressure treated 2"x6" with "Install a metal edge going along the width of the ramp". Metal shall rise to 2" where it meets the concrete.
