Description
Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Information & Technology (OI&T), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Office of Health Information (OHI), VHA Innovation Program Initiative-Addition of a Search Tool to the Clinical Patient Record System (CPRS). THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. THE PURPOSE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY. RESPONSES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT WILL BE USED BY THE GOVERNMENT TO MAKE APPROPRIATE ACQUISITION DECISIONS. A SUBSEQUENT SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT MAY FOLLOW. RESPONSES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED AS AN ADEQUATE RESPONSE TO ANY FUTURE ANNOUNCEMENT. This is a Sources Sought for the development of a Search Tool Function to the CPRS. The Contractor shall add a search tool to the main toolbar of CPRS that has the capability to search free text, for example, aneurysm. Advocacy and maintenance of standardized lifecycle processes for VA tasks and projects shall also be provided. Results of the text search should be indexed according to which tabbed section of CPRS the results are found. Initial results returned should not exceed 200 record blocks, organized by date with the most recent results delivered first, in order to avoid slowing down the operation of CPRS. The end user should receive a drillable list, indexing the tabbed sections of CPRS containing at least one occurrence of that text. By clicking on the desired section the user should then be taken to indexed results found within that tabbed section. After clicking on each record within the tabbed section, the text found should be in bold font to ease visualization of the searched text. Preferred sections to be searched include Problems, Notes, Consults, D/C Summary and Reports. The contractor shall perform periodic testing and report the results. Place of Performance: The place of performance shall be provided at the Contractor's facilities within the Continental United States (CONUS). It is requested that any interested party submit the information required below via email to the point of contact listed at this bottom of this announcement. Interested contractors shall provide the following: "Company Name; "Company Address; "Point of contact name; "Telephone number; "Email address; "Company's business size, including applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code(s); and "Brief capabilities statement not exceeding 2 pages. RESPONSES DUE: Please submit the above requested information and comments by August 30, 2010 12:00PM EST via Email to Justin Helfman (Email: justin.helfman@va.gov). This request for information, or "sources sought," shall not be construed as a Request For Quote. Information is to be provided on a voluntary basis. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges including postage and shipping will arise as a result of the submission of contractors' information.
