- Description
- Draft Performance Work Statement The Department of Education requires contractor support to identify, recruit, serve, and otherwise operate a Migrant Education Program (MEP) (authorized under Title I, Part C of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act as amended), for the benefit of eligible migrant children who reside in a State that is unable or unwilling to operate a program. Currently, two States [Connecticut (CT) and Rhode Island (RI)] have chosen to not operate a MEP. If necessary, the Department reserves the option of adding additional States to this contract through a supplemental task order and supplemental funding. The Department seeks bidders from State education agencies, local education agencies, institutions of higher education, and other public and private non-profit organizations. Accordingly, the attached draft Performance Work Statement (PWS) is provided for comment. In addition, interested parties are requested to identify any competition barriers. Comments about the PWS and concerns about potential competition barriers shall be submitted electronically to jason.wilson@ed.gov by 5:00 p.m. EDT on Thursday, September 2, 2010. Please indicate your business size in your response. In an effort to enhance competition, interested parties are invited to participate in a webinar on Tuesday, August 31 at 2:00 pm EDT. During this webinar, the Department will share its vision and goals for the procurement. This webinar is intended to be an interactive process where potential offerors are encouraged to bring fresh ideas and to suggest potential ways to improve the overall procurement process. In order to participate in the webinar please RSVP to lisa.gillette@ed.gov and cc Contract Specialist, Jason Wilson, at jason.wilson@ed.gov by 5:00 pm EDT on Friday, August 27, 2010.
