- Description
- Revised SOW Foam Flow Test (17 Aug 10) ADDENDUM - Revised SOW (17 Aug 10) and Contractor Questions and Answers Statement of Work (17 Aug 10) - Summary of Revisions: 1 - Section 2.1, Table 2 - Revised Bldg 995 # of electric pumps from 3 to 2 2 - Section 2.9 - Revised paragraph to clarify requirements for re-servicing systems and delineate between Government and Contractor responsibilities 3 - Section 2.12 - Added the term "equipment" to the "total inspection" verbiage as shown. Contractor Questions and Answers: Q1: The SOW states that the contractor testing this equipment shall do so according to NFPA guidelines. This will not be possible since the system does not meet NFPA as it is now. Will the SOW be changed or how do we need to plan on testing? A1: Some parts of the SOW have been revised effective 17 Aug 10; however, the requirement for inspection of compliance with all applicable regulations remains unchanged. The facilities in question were erected prior to the Department of Defense adoption of the National Fire Code in 1995 and are considered grandfathered until/unless substantial renovations or modifications are made. You should plan on testing IAW the SOW; the results will be compared against the most recent inspection of the same facilities (conducted 7 May 2008). Q2: What is the "not to exceed cost of minor repairs or system modifications per building?" A2: Refer to Section 2.12 of the SOW (up to 2% of total equipment inspection). Q3: Is there in fact a total of 6 electric fire pumps? A3: No, there are a total of 5 electric fire pumps (SOW has been revised to reflect this - reference Section 2.1, Table 2, Bldg 995) Q4: Are you wanting us to catch and dispose of foam that is released off the system thru a hose or are you wanting a full dump of the system? A4: Refer to Section 2.11 of the SOW for details. You are only required to flow foam sufficient to achieve the testing requirements and resulting reports as outlined in the SOW and applicable regulations.
