Description
This is the SOW The U.S. Department of Education (ED) seeks to negotiate with EBSCO Industries, Inc., 10 Estes Street, Ipswich, MA 01938 for a subscription for internet access to the EBSCOHOST service with selected full-text and access to their proprietary search engine. The purpose of this subscription is to provide access to selected electronic databases for the National Library of Education. Academic Search Premier provides indexing for more than 8,200 journals, with full-text for nearly 4,500 of those, PDF backfiles to 1975 or further for over 100 titles, and searchable cited references for almost 1,000 titles. Education Research Complete provides a bibliographic and full text database covering scholarly research and information relating to all areas of education, with indexing and abstracts for more than 1,780 journals and full-text for more than 870 journals, 70 books and monographs, and education-related conference papers. ERIC, the US Department of Education's Education Resources Information Center, indexes and abstracts journals and grey literature; it includes more than 1,300,000 records and links to more than 300,000 full-text items. EconLit with Full Text provides all of the content available in EconLit and full-text for more than 400 publications including titles from the American Economic Association (with no embargo). Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts indexes over 600 periodicals, as well as books, research reports and proceedings, with coverage back to the mid-1960s. Mental Measurements Yearbook, produced by the Buros Institute of Mental Measurements at the University of Nebraska, provides a comprehensive guide to over 2,000 contemporary testing instruments; the database covers from Volume 9 to the present. Tests in Print, also produced by the Buros Institute, serves as a comprehensive bibliography to all known commercially available tests currently in print in the English language. PsycCritiques, PsycEXTRA, PsycBooks, PsycARTICLES, and PsycINFO are products of the American Psychological Association. PsycCRITIQUES is a database of full-text book reviews featuring current scholarly and professional books in psychology, including nearly 40,000 reviews dating back to 1956. PsycBooks includes books published by APA and other distinguished publishers, including over 1,000 classic books of landmark historical impact in psychology dating from the 1600s, and the exclusive electronic release of more than 1,500 authored entries from APA/Oxford University Press Encyclopedia of Psychology. PsycARTICLES is a definitive source of full-text, peer-reviewed scholarly and scientific articles in psychology. The database contains approximately 150,000 articles from over 70 journals published by the APA, and its imprint the Educational Publishing Foundation (EPF), and from allied organizations. PsycINFO, a resource for abstracts of scholarly journal articles, book chapters, books, and dissertations, is the largest resource devoted to peer-reviewed literature in behavioral science and mental health. It contains nearly 3 million citations and summaries dating as far back as the 1600s. Journal coverage, which spans from the 1800s to the present, includes international material selected from more than 2,400 periodicals in nearly 30 languages. PsycEXTRA, a gray literature database, is a companion to the scholarly PsycINFO database, containing more than 179,000 records, with full text for more than 70 percent, 30,000+ records added yearly, and most of the content written for professionals and disseminated outside of peer-reviewed journals. It provides scholarly material published prior to the peer review process, such as conference proceedings and papers, technical and annual reports, government reports, policy statements, and white papers, as well as material never intended for scholarly use, but beneficial to the research process; these include newsletters, magazine and newspaper articles, press releases, consumer brochures, fact sheets, pamphlets, and grant papers. All databases operate on the EBSCOHOST platform, using EBSCO's search engine. All offerors who can provide access to the complete selected electronic databases may submit a proposal by September 1, 2010 no later than 1:00 PM Eastern time.
