- Description
- The National Cancer Institute (NCI), Center for Cancer Research (CCR), Genetics Branch plans to procure the brand name Agilent Bravo Liquid Handling Platform with configurable pads and accessories to include utility connection kit; robot disable pendant and operating software from Agilent Technologies; 2850 Centerville Road; BU3-2; Wilmington, DE 19808-1610. The supplies herein are being procured in accordance with the simplified acquisition procedures authorized by FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1). The North American Industry Classification System Code is 334516 and the business size standard is 500 employees. Only one award will be made as a result of this solicitation. This will be awarded as a firm fixed price contract. The Delivery Date will be seven weeks from date of award. A new method was developed to automate library construction for the Illumina sequencing platform using the Agilent Bravo Automated Liquid Handling Platform and the Agencourt Ampure PCR purification kit. Current Next-Generation sequencing workflows require extensive manual processing steps including repetitive pipetting and the use of individual centrifugation columns for cleanups of enzymatic steps. The Agilent Bravo Liquid Handling Platform is a fully customizable system enabling a robot to work with both Illumina platforms and Agilent SureSelect arrays. The system offers the fastest and most versatile footprint and utilizes high-accuracy pipette heads for dispensing from 100 nL to 200 uL in 96 and 884-well microplates with disposable or fixed tips depending on the application required. Additionally the system can access a single column, row, or well of any of these microplate types utilizing the standard 96- and 384-channel heads. The system runs from the Agilent VWorks Automation control software which was developed for the Bravo platform to offer aspirate and dispense enzyme master-mixes and perform the clean-up of these reactions through the transfer of the Agencourt AMPure reagent to the reaction, transfer of the microtiter plate to a magnet using the integrated gripper, and subsequent sample wash and elution steps. Currently Agilent is the only known vendor who manufactures and distributes this system and the accompanying software. This is not a solicitation for competitive quotations. However, if any interested party believes they can meet the above requirement, they may submit a statement of capabilities. All information furnished must be in writing and must contain sufficient detail to allow the NCI to determine if it can meet the above unique specifications described herein. An original and one copy of the capability statement must be received in the NCI Office of Acquisitions on or before 11:00 AM EST on September 2, 2010.
