- The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) is providing notice that a Request for Proposal (RFP), Solicitation No. W81XWH-10-R-0132, will be issued on or about 20 August 2010 and proposals will be due on or about 09 September 2010 at 12:00 p.m. EDT that seeks proposals to support the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID). The USAMRIID is seeking a contractor to manufacture sufficient quantities of monovalent (Ebola Zaire, Ebola Sudan, and Marburg) and chimeric Virus Like Particles (VLPs) to support ongoing evaluation of efficacy, potency, and safety of Filovirus vaccine candidates. The contractor shall be responsible for producing between 500 mg to 1000 mg of purified glycoprotein for each VLP. The contractor shall optimize existing genetic vectors for VLP preparation, produce VLP in a mammalian cell system, design a procedure to purify the VLP that is scalable, and identify conditions to store the purified VLP to maintain stability for at least 12 months. The contractor shall be responsible for release testing and providing a certificate of analysis for each VLP delivered. The contractor shall provide copies of all manufacturing records and laboratory notebooks describing the processes. The Government plans to award a twenty-four month firm-fixed-price contract with a provision for two one-year options. This requirement is not a small business set-aside. All responsible sources may submit an offer for consideration. Award is anticipated on or about 20 September 2010. Telephone requests will NOT be honored.
