- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District requires a contract to provide Maintenance Dredging, Wilmington Harbor, Outer Ocean Bar/Mid River, New Hanover and Brunswick Counties, North Carolina. The work includes maintenance dredging of the Federal navigation channel reaches including Baldhead Shoal Channel Reach 3 and other channel reaches located between Southport and the North Carolina State Ports Authority facility in Wilmington. Hopper dredges and mechanical dredges (clamshell, dragline, and dipper) will be allowed to perform the work. Dredging depths are 44 plus 2 of allowable overdepth for Baldhead Shoal Channel Reach 3 and 42 plus 2 of allowable overdepth for the channel reaches located between Southport and Wilmington. The estimated quantity of unclassified material to be dredged is approximately 1,850,000 cubic yards. Dredged material to be placed in the Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site. The contract issued will be Firm Fixed Price. The Magnitude of Construction of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Network analysis will not be required. This solicitation will be issued in electronic format only and will be available on or about 10 September 2010. The bid opening date will be specified in the solicitation when it is issued. No additional media (CD-ROM, floppy disks, faxes, etc) will be provided. This solicitation is UNRESTRICTED. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990 Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction and the size standard is $20,000,000.00. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be available. Other methods of requesting a package will not be honored.
