Description

Contracting Officer: VERITA FRIESNER Description of Supplies/Services: The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), GD / VSC, has a requirement for 1 Base Period - Oct 1, 2010 through Mar 31, 2011, Services, Non - Personal, to provide all necessary tools, equipment, personnel, and management to perform service maintenance for a JEOL 8900 Electron Microprobe, Gold Service Level; in accordance with Statement of Work. Includes 1 Option Year - Apr 1, 2011, through Mar 31, 2012, same service as Base Period. The Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively IAW FAR 12 and 13.106-1(b),(1) to JEOL USA, INC. JEOL USA, INC., is the only known source that can provide factory trained field service engineers for their equipment products that JEOL USA, INC manufactured. No other company is known to have the expertise or can provide the replacement parts as needed. Other interested concerns having the ability to furnish these services shall submit a capabilities statement to the Contracting Officer no later than the closing date of this announcement. All submissions will be evaluated to determine if competitive opportunities exist. This is NOT an RFQ. This does represent the Government's only written notice of this procurement. All responsible sources may submit a response which, if timely received, must be considered by the agency. ************************************************************************************* This notice and any resulting contract or order conforms to the requirements in place through FAC 05-44 (effective 08 JUL 2010). All questions regarding this procurement shall be in writing, and addressed to Cheryl Fitch at cfitch@usgs.gov no later than 08/16/2010.
