Description

The Bureau of Reclamation, Pacific Northwest Region, has a requirement to rehabilitate the turbines and replace the runners at Palisades Powerplant, located approximately 18 miles west of the Idaho-Wyoming border in Bonneville County, Idaho. The runners have been in service since 1957 and have experienced a decrease in efficiency, and are also approaching their life expectancy. The contract work includes: 1) fabricating and testing of a hydraulic turbine model; 2) restoring and/or furnishing new components (wicket gates, bushings, wear rings, bearings, guides, valves, etc.) for the turbines; and 3) furnishing and installing new stainless steel runners. This requirement will be issued as a negotiated request for proposals, and specific evaluation factors for the project will be detailed in the solicitation. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 333611, and the small business size standard is 1,000 employees. An electronic copy of the solicitation will be available APPROXIMATELY September 1, 2010, at www.fedbizopps.gov. Prospective offerors must be registered in CCR prior to the awarding of any contract - see www.ccr.gov. One or more of the items under this acquisition is subject to the World Trade Organization Government Procurement Agreement and Free Trade Agreements.
