- AMENDMENT 1 - SSK1 CHANGES DATED 7-30-2010 AMENDMENT 1 - PAGES 2-3 SF30 - AG-82B1-S-10-0407 AMENDMENT 1 THIS IS AN AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) PROCUREMENT. The resulting contract will utilize funds provided by the AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) OF 2009. Interested parties are notified that the inclusion of unique provisions required in implementing the Act, including those for significant reporting and transparency, will be required of the successful proposal. The purpose of this announcement is to make notice that the Forest Service is releasing a Request for Proposal numbered AG-82B1-S-10-0407, for the RECOVERY Lolo Pass Visitor Center Deferred Maintenance Reduction. This requirement is being solicited as a Request for Proposal (RFP) under FAR Part 15. Proposals or offers are due at August 27, 2010; 5:00 P.M. Mountain Time. A single firm-fixed price type contract will be awarded to the responsible offeror based upon price and other evaluation factors as stated in the soliciation(IAW FAR Part 9, Contractor Qualifications) ALL PROPOSALS SHOULD BE MAILED TO: USDA/FOREST SERVICES ATTN: PHYLLIS R. COBURN-HARRIEL 740 SIMMS ST GOLDEN, CO 80401 PROJECT DESCRIPTION. The project consists of a structural upgrade / repair and miscellaneous repairs to the existing 3360 s.f. visitor center and the adjacent 880 s.f. warming hut. Ten years after completion, the log structure has undergone unacceptable levels of settlement and shrinkage. Work will also include repairs to the existing residence, 2 small storage buildings and the construction of a new storage building. Project work includes but is not limited to : structural work and upgrade of the existing Visitor Center (Building “A”), Structural work and upgrade of the existing Warming Hut (Building “B”), new log construction of Storage Building (Building “C”), porch repair of existing mud creek cabin residence (Building “D”). Repairs and roof upgrades to existing storage buildings (Building “E” & Building “F”). The buildings must be protected from leakage and exposure to the weather during removal of the existing roof and completion of the new roof. New concrete logs will replace existing weathered sign structures. Existing site and parking lot lighting will be retrofitted with LED fixtures. Contractor shall remove, store, protect and reinstall all interpretive signage. The Contractor shall provide all materials and labor necessary to complete the work in a professional workman like manner and in accordance with attached specifications and drawings. Final cleanup shall be considered incidental to the work. The magnitude of this project IAW FAR 36.204 (e) is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. ADDED AUGUST 4, 2010: A PRE-BID MEETING HAS BEEN SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 16, 2010 AT 10:00 AM MOUNTAIN STANDARD TIME (9:00 AM PACIFIC STANDARD TIME - LOCAL TIME AT LOLO PASS. THE PRE-BID MEETING WILL BE HELD AT THE SITE. PLEASE E-MAIL PHYLLIS HARRIEL PRHARRIEL@FS.FED.US TO CONFIRM ATTENDANCE - PLEASE SUBMIT ALL QUESTIONS IN WRITING TO ALLOW THE ENGINEERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO RESPOND PRIOR TO MEETING. ALL QUESTIONS ARE DUE NLT AUGUST 10, 2010 AT 4:30 PM. The recommended contract length is 365 days. Performance and Payments will be required per the Miller Act and Davis-Bacon wage rates will apply. PROJECT LOCATION. Project work is located at Lolo Pass Recreation Area, Idaho County, Idaho, in the Clearwater National Forest. Lolo Pass Recreation Area is located approximately 130 miles east of Orofino, Idaho. From Orofino, Idaho travel approximately 130 miles east via Highway 12 to Lolo Pass, Idaho. Lolo Pass is approximately at milepost 174 on Highway 12. All future information about this acquisition, including amendments, will be distributed solely through this site.
