Description
Fabricate and deliver a one (1) hydraulic power unit; one (1) 3-1/2 inch square drive, hydraulically operated, 100,000 ft-lb torque wrench; and two (2) 3-1/2 inch square drive sockets to be used for removing and replacing the main unit shaft coupling bolts that couple the main shaft to the intermediate shaft and the turbine coupling bolts that couple the intermediate shaft to the turbine shaft. These items shall be delivered to Lower Granite Dam by the date shown in Section Shipment and Delivery. The successful bidder shall also provide training (if recommended by the manufacturer), documentation in the form of test certificates and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals, and other items as stated in the specifications. Hydraulic power unit and wrench shall develop 100,000 foot-pounds of torque, be 3-1/2 inch square drive, provide no less than 28 degrees of nut rotation per each stroke of hydraulic cylinder, be constructed of high-strength chrome-molly steel (lightweight titanium or aluminum alloy will not be accepted), and be able to operate with a full 100% duty cycle. Wrench shall have multi indexable cylinders to allow for full 360 degrees rotation to allow the operator to clear any task set-up obstacles. The two (2) sockets shall be constructed of 4140 steel and shall be the correct size to fit on the coupling nuts, as shown in the attached drawings. One (1) each socket 9 3/4 inch and one (1) each socket 6.5-8 hex nut, both sockets fit on 3-1/2 inch drive of torque wrench.
