Description
THIS IS A PRESOLICATION NOTICE ONLY: Aztec Ruins National Monument intends to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) to remove modern roofing materials from prehistoric masonry walls of West Ruin, which was occupied from the early 1100's to the late 1200's (A.D.). Over the past 75 years, the National Park Service (NPS) has added protective roofs over the original prehistoric roofs in many of the second story rooms in order to safeguard the original building materials from deterioration. Although care was taken to prevent damage to associated masonry, some earlier protective roofing projects were not so careful and data is sometimes not available on the types of roofing tar or adhesive materials that were used; these earlier roofing adhesives are what need to be removed from the masonry. They must be removed by individuals who have proven expertise in historic and/or ruins preservation. They must also meet all personnel requirements necessary to carry out archeological investigations on federal lands, including the personnel requirements listed under the Secretary of Interior Standards for Archeology and Historic Preservation. These standards can be found at http://www.nps.gov/history/local-law/arch_stnds_0.htm. The Contracting Officer contemplates award of a firm fixed price contract pursuant to the solicitation. For determination of size standards, please use North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 712120, Archeological / Historical Sites, and the small business size standard is $7.0 Million. Anticipated Solicitation date is August 2, 2010. All information, amendments and questions concerning the solicitation will be electronically posted at the following webpage: http://ideasec.nbc.gov National Business Center Interior Department Electronic Acquisition System and/or via www.fbo.gov Federal Business Opportunity system. No telephone requests will be accepted. All inquires must be in writing, preferable via e-mail to the person specified in the solicitation. If you have any questions concerning this procurement you are encouraged to e-mail your questions to cynthia_markum@nps.gov. Interested offerors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. Firms can register via the CCR Internet site at http://www.ccr.gov or by contacting the CCR Information Center at 1-888-227-2423. This requirement will be 100% Set-Aside for Small Business firms.
