C-130 Avionics Modernization Program (AMP) Background The C-130 AMP acquisition is a Major Defense Acquisition procurement that will replace aging avionics in C-130 aircraft in order to lower the cost of ownership and increase platform survivability in response to Master Plan and Communication Navigation Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) requirements. C-130 AMP Source Familiarization Program (SFP) Background The C-130 AMP SFP is designed to improve competitive options for C-130 AMP Full Rate Production (FRP) by providing AMP system overview and installation familiarization training, specific AMP hardware (i.e. modification kits, install tools and support equipment), and associated AMP installation data. The purpose of this announcement is to distribute the attached C-130 AMP SFP briefing in order to provide a very high-level description of the currently anticipated acquisition strategy. The strategy has yet to be approved and is subject to change. All questions pertaining to SFP or this briefing must be submitted in writing to the government's points of contact no later than close of business 18 June 2010.
