- Description
- This requirement is for a firm-fixed price contract with two option years for a B-2 Electrical Control Box - Smart Bomb Rack Controller (SBRC). This acquisition is for NSN: 1095-01-513-9507, part number: 70P993000-1013. The Smart Bomb Rack Controller is the control box for the Smart Bomb Rack Assembly (SBRA). The controller receives weapons status and release information from the aircraft's weapon release system and controls the release of 1760 specification smart weapons or conventional gravity weapons from the B-2. General characteristics of the item are as follows: approximate length - 30", approximate width - 12", approximate height - 8", approximate weight - 50 lbs, item material - metal container containing various circuit cards. The basic production quantity is 5 EA. Option One has a quantity of 1 - 5 EA. Option Two has a quantity of 1 - 9 EA. All assets will be shipped FOB Origin within the continental United States. Delivery schedule will be 210 calendar days ARO contract or as specified in the RFP. This acquisition will be sole source to Boeing/McDonnell Douglass Corporation (CAGE Code 76301) under the Authority 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1), FAR 6.302-1. Supplies or services required are available from only one or a limited number of responsible sources and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency needs. All interested responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. Based upon market research, the Government is not using the policies contained in FAR Part 12 (Acquisition of Commercial Items) in its solicitation for the described supplies or services. However, interested persons may identify to the contracting officer their interest and capability to satisfy the Government's requirement with a commercial item within 15 days of this notice. It is anticipated that the RFP will be released on or around 10 August 2010. The RFP will be posted to the Federal Business Opportunities web page ( http://www.fbo.gov/ ).
