Description
Vendor shall supply corn chopper, trucks, wagons, tractors to pul wagons, silage bagger, tractor to operate bagger, sileage bags, fuel and all labor to supply the National Animal Disease Center (NADC) with sufficient corn sileage (Approximately 600 Ton) to fill four (4) 9' diameter x 200' long silage storage bags. Specifications: Vendor Shall be responsible for delivery of sileage from fields to NADC. Vendor shall supervise all areas of the operation which they are responsible for. Sileage harvest shall begin late August to early september or as soon as corn maturity, for sileage is reached. A minimumn of one out of efvery four loads shall be weighed at an approved and licensed Scale. An average weight shall be determined for each different type of conveyence variation. All Original weight tickets and numbers of loads will be left with the Government Representative at the conclusion of each day. The vendor shall be responsible for keeping accurate count of the number of loads and tonnage hauled for each vehicle. The vendor shall provide and apply a sileage innoculant (Pioneer Brand 11A44), at the chopper. Finished product shall have a minimum or 45% grain, between 34-38% moisture, and a finished product size of five-eighths inch cut size. Bags shall be filled on a level rock chip base. Special notes: NADC has a corn plot on site consisting of approximately four acres which shall be chopped by the contractor. The tonnage from this plot (Approximately 50 ton) is part of the roughly 600 ton requested. The NADC has the following equipment items which will be made available for the Contractors use. One tractor and self unloading wagon to convey sileage into the sileage bagger, two loader tractors for dumping sileage from the piles into the self unloading wagon; fuel for the three NADC tractors and sufficient labor to operate same.
