Description
NOTICE: Only local sources will be considered under this solicitation. Local sources are sources (e.g. corporations or partnerships) that are physically located in Japan and authorized (i.e. licensed and registered) to perform in Japan, the type of construction work specified in this solicitation. Specifically, a prospective offeror must be duly authorized to operate and conduct business in Japan and must fully comply with all laws, decrees, labor standards, and regulations of Japan during the performance of the resulting contract. In addition, prior to award of the contract, offeror must be registered with the Government of Japan to do construction work in Japan and possess necessary construction licenses and permits to perform work required under this solicitation. PROJECT INFORMATION: Project upgrades to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. Upgrades consists of work to construct accessible parking lot areas; sloped curb/ramps; free-standing parking signs; automatic door, access buzzer or intercom for main entrances; building entrances; hallways; drinking fountains; restrooms (toilets, sinks, mirrors, etc.); public phone booths, elevator or chair lift. Locations are at building 227 and 228, Camp Zama; building 101, Sagamihara Family Housing Area; building 143-5, Sagami General Depot; and building 200 and 331 Yokohama North Dock. The solicitation will be issued on or about August 13, 2010. The magnitude of this project is between 10,000,000 Japanese Yen and 25,000,000 Japanese Yen. SOLICITATION INFORMATION: 1. Traditional hard copies of plans and specifications will not be available for this project. Solicitation documents will be posted in Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) webpage for interested parties to download. 2. Companies that have not submitted Bidders Mailing List Application to this office on or after April 2005 are requested to go to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Japan Engineer District, Contracting Division website (http://www.poj.usace.army.mil/Contracting) to download the Bidders Mailing List Application. Such companies shall be required to complete Bidders Mailing List Application and submit documents that show they are registered with the Government of Japan to do construction work in Japan and possess necessary construction licenses and permits required to perform the work required under this solicitation prior to or at the time of bid/proposal submittal.
