Description
Battelle Memorial Institute (Battelle), in connection with Battelle's operation and maintenance of the U.S. Department of Energy's Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) at Richland, Washington under Contract No. DE-AC05-76RL01830 has need for a General Construction Contractor to provide construction contracting services. Firms responding to this sources sought request must register on Battelle's Electronic Bid Solicitations (EBS) System, https://ebs.pnl.gov/, and be approved prior to bid issuance. In response to a need for new high-performance scientific instrumentation facility at EMSL, a research facility on the DOE/PNSO campus in Richland, Washington, Battelle Facilities group is preparing the design to go out for bid for an approximately 10,000 SF research facility that is attached to the existing EMSL. The facility space currently identified as the Quiet Wing will have tight temperature, vibration, and electromagnetic requirements in order to support the ultra sensitive equipment envisioned for research in the space. Scope of work includes, but is not limited to; site, foundations, structure, glazing, EFIS, roofing, finishes, mechanical, electrical and utility tie-ins to existing facility infrastructure. A portion of the facility is a high bay constructed of 12 inch CMU with EFIS exterior. The 8 instrument rooms located inside the high bay are roughly 20' x 20' and are constructed of 8 inch CMU and are 18 feet tall. In addition to the high bay space, the facility includes; sample prep lab, collaborative space, restroom, storage, IT room, mechanical space and electrical room. The Contractor shall provide for all labor, material, supplies, transportation, supervision and all other necessary items for complete and usable project. Common trades which may be needed include, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, laborers, power equipment operators, cement workers, painters, trades identified in the Davis Bacon Wage Determination and other trades common to the construction industry. The Contractor will be required to perform multi-discipline construction work using these trade workers. BID BONDS, PAYMENT AND PERFORMANCE BONDS WILL BE REQUIRED.
