- The FAA is seeking experienced firms to perform CAB roof/penthouse fireproofing work at the Chicago-Midway Int'l Airport in Chicago, Illinois. Work consists of but is not limited to the following:1.CLEAN EXISTING SURFACE OF UNDERSIDE OF METAL DECKS, CEILING INSULATIONS, BEAMS, COLUMNS, WALLS, GRATINGS, ETC. TO RECEIVE FOAM INSULATIONS.2.PROVIDE MINIMUM 3" THICK FOAM INSULATIONS ON UNDER SIDE OF ENTIRE EXPOSED METAL DECKS, EXISTING CEILING INSULATIONS, BEAMS, COLUMNS, ALL MISC. FRAMES, WALLS, ETC. ABOVE CAB CEILING AND BELOW PENTHOUSE ROOF DECKS. 3.ALL FOAM INSULATION SHALL RECEIVE 15 MINUTE SPRAY-ON FIRE BARRIER. 4.PROVIDE PRE-FOAMED METAL FRAME AT ACCESS DOOR TO ROOF.5.REMOVE EXISTING WOODEN PLANKS AND PROVIDE FIBERGLASS DECKING SYSTEM. 6.REMOVE DEBRIS AND VACUUM TOP OF CAB CEILING TILES AND GRIDS, LIGHT FIXTURES, ETC AT THE END OF THE PROJECT. The NAICS code for the acquisition is 236220. To be considered for the award of this project, the contractor must be currently registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database (website: w.ccr.gov).Offer range is between $90,000 and $150,000 with a performance time of approximately 2 weekends. Work is anticipated to start September 2010. Work hours will be from 10:30pm to 5:00am. Additional insurance required: Workers Compensation Insurance, as prescribed by applicable law covering all employees who are to provide work under this Contract and Employers Liability coverage with limits of not less than $500,000 each accident, illness or disease. 2)Commercial General Liability (Primary and Umbrella) Commercial General Liability Insurance or equivalent with limits of not less than $2,000,000 per occurrence for bodily injury, personal injury, and property. Subcontractors performing work for the Contractor must maintain limits of not less than $1,000,000 with the same terms.
