- THIS IS A TOTAL 100% SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB) SET-ASIDE. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) - Iowa intends to issue an Invitation For Bid (IFB) to award a single, firm fixed-price contract to provide all tools, materials, equipment and labor necessary for completion of general construction project 618-CSI-002, 'CIS/ARK Site Prep: Central Equipment Rooms,' at the following VA Medical Centers in accordance with the drawings and specifications: VA Central Iowa Healthcare System, Des Moines, Iowa; Iowa City VA Medical Center, Iowa City, IA; Sioux Falls VA Medical Center, Sioux Falls, SD; Black Hills Health Care System, Fort Meade, SD; and the Nebraska Western Iowa VA Healthcare System, Omaha, NE. Work will include but is not be limited to the modification/remodel/construction of Biomedical Engineering Department space(s) and/or medical equipment server rooms at the facilities listed above. Specifics include but are not limited to the following: Add new doors and relocate existing doors. Remove walls, move existing walls, and construct new fixed walls. Cut and patch existing roof and new curbs for installation of heat rejection equipment. Remove old and install new finishes. Replace existing flooring. Install new accordion partition. Insulate existing walls. Remove and replace existing ceilings and flooring and replace with new. Remove existing floor drains. Provide and install new air conditioning units (CRACs). Provide and install new diffusers, grills and sprinkler heads. Replace all sprinkler heads. Provide soft water for new infrared humidifiers. Provide appropriate electrical to achieve high reliability and redundancy as detailed in the drawings and specifications. Installation of new electrical equipment. Plumbing work shall include removal of dedicated plumbing except for waste and vent piping to accommodate floor drains for condensate drainage. Other mechanical and electrical work as required by the specifications and drawings. Work is to be completed within 120 calendar days from the notice to proceed. Specifications and Drawings for submitting a bid will be available at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/). All respondents must be registered in the CCR database (http://www.ccr.gov) and complete online Representations and Certifications at (http://orca.bpn.gov), along with Vets 100 at (http://vets.dol.gov/vets100/). Bidders must be registered in VetBiz at (http://www.vetbiz.gov/). Amendments to the solicitation will be posted at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/). All parties must obtain amendments to the solicitation through this web site. Hard copies will not be mailed. Interested parties must go to the web site to be entered on the Interested Vendors List and/or to obtain copies of the Interested Vendors List. All questions must be submitted in writing to the issuing office via email to Allison Bacon (allison.bacon2@va.gov). Solicitation Issue Date is tentatively scheduled for July 29, 2010. The Pre-bid meetings/Site-visits will be announced upon Solicitation issuance. Bid Opening Date will be on or about August 27, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. (local time), in Bldg. #21, Room #1B03f at the Iowa City VAMC, Iowa City, IA, but exact date may vary depending on issuance of the solicitation. The applicable NAICS Code is 236220, with the applicable size standard being $33.5 million. Cost range is between $1,000,000.00 and $2,000,000.00.
