- Combined Synopsis/Solicitation, Rev 5 (updates in red) COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for INTERIM STORAGE OF DEPLETED URANIUM OXIDE This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number for this acquisition is DE-SOL-0001984 and is issued as a Request for Proposal. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-41. For informational purposes, the North American Industry Classification System code is 562211 and the small business size standard is $12.5M. The Department of Energy, Savannah River Operations Office, intends to award a Firm Fixed-Price Contract for the contract line item numbers (CLINs) listed in the attachment. The Department of Energy is interested in obtaining interim storage of the depleted uranium oxide (DUO) for an initial period of five years, with options to extend for two additional one-year periods. Offerors must have the appropriate Federal and State licenses for the storage of DUO within 60 days of award and have the ability to receive the first shipment via rail within 90 days of award. The rail shipments of the drums are not included within the scope of this storage contract and will be made via a separate / existing DOE contract. The Scope of Work and applicable terms and conditions are attached.
