Description

RECOVERY - Chickasaw National Recreation Area - South ESA (WUI) ThinningTAS::14 1125::TAS RECOVERY CHIC PMIS # 164717 This announcement is for informational purposes only; this opportunity is available only to contractors awarded contracts under Solicitation No. N1212090089 (Contract Numbers: C1212090089 Firestorm; C1274090120 Quick Silver; C1274090117 Summitt; C1274090018 Sweat; C1274090119 Lost River). The Chickasaw National Recreation Area (here after referred to as NRA) will contract the manual and mechanical treatment as described below of 447 acres of land within the NRA. The purpose of this project is to create and maintain a defensible space along the NRA boundary to aid in the suppression of fires entering or exiting the NRA and to protect existing structures and property within and adjacent to the NRA. This project will also reduce the encroachment of eastern red cedar and ash juniper into those NRA areas which have historically been hardwood stands and mixed grass prairie.
