- Description
- The Point Chehalis revetment project is located adjacent to the Westport Marina. Damage to the revetment will be repaired by placing approximately 1,735 cubic yards (2,435 tons) of new armor rock along approximately 200 linear feet of revetment. A small amount of gravel (approximately 30 tons) may also be placed temporarily to protect the asphalt pit run and sidewalk adjacent to the revetment from damage during equipment (track backhoe or crane access) to repair the structure, and would be removed at project completion. The new armor rock material of average 9-17 ton size would be placed, and existing material would be reshaped to conform with the minimum top elevation called for in the rehabilitation design (+25 MLLW) and will be similar in construction and elevation to the neighboring segments of groin/revetment. The majority of the work would take place above the mean higher high water contour. Some rock would be re-worked in the lower sections of the revetment below MLLW, and some additional rock would be incorporated. The repair project is scheduled for a three week period in September 2010. Actual construction activities are expected to last seven to 10 days depending on weather and tidal conditions. Rock would be trucked to the site on existing, paved roads. Equipment access to the site would also be via the existing paved road shoreward of the revetment. Equipment to be utilized would include dump trucks to haul required rock as well as a hydraulic excavator or mobile crane to position the rock. This project is open to small business ONLY. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 237990 Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction, with a size standard of $33.5 million. For the purposes of this procurement, a firm is a small business if its annual average gross revenue, taken for the last 3 fiscal years, does not exceed $33.5 million. For information concerning NAICS and SBA size standards, go to http://www.sba.gov. Issue of the solicitation will be in electronic format only. No disks or hard copy will be available.
