NIACS: 238220 VA263-10-RP-0301 The VA Minneapolis Contracting and Purchasing Office, 708 South Third Street, Suite 200E, Minneapolis, MN 55415 on behalf of the Facilities Engineering Service, VA Medical Center, One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55417 intends to award to a Sole-Source Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) concern, Southside Plumbing and Heating, Inc., Minneapolis, MN the following project. Any other SDVOSB contractor may participate or propose in this solicitation. To obtain a copy of the solicitation and other documentation contact Michael L. Owen by e-mail at Michael.owen@va.gov. The solicitation documentation will NOT be posted on www.fbo.gov. Telephone requests for solicitation documents will NOT be honored. This is NOT an ARRA project. This synopsis is published in accordance with VA Acquisition Regulations (VAAR) 810.001 and 810.002. Z - CONSTRUCTION PROJECT - DESIGN-BUILD TO REPLACE DIALYSIS WALL BOXES General Scope of Contract Provide all labor, materials, tools and equipment and design-build services necessary for the design and construction of project 618-10-128, Install Dialysis Stations in Buildings 70 (hospital) and 76 (SCI) at the VAMC Minneapolis, MN. The project will design and construct new and replacement dialysis stations in the existing Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), Surgery Intensive Care Unit (SICU) and the Spinal Cord Injury building (SCI). Design-Build Requirements - Base Bid: Replace Wall Boxes in MICU The DB Team will use applicable statutes, codes, and VA design standards to develop construction drawings and specifications and to complete installation and replacement of the dialysis water supply and drain equipment used by portable dialysis equipment in the MICU. The DB Team will coordinate all requirements for the project and coordinate the removal of existing wall box dialysis stations and the installation of the new stations. The DB team will coordinate the installation of the new wall box dialysis stations. Option 1 - Replace Wall Boxes in SICU The DB Team will use applicable statutes, codes, and VA design standards to develop construction drawings and specifications and to complete installation and replacement of the dialysis water supply and drain equipment used by portable dialysis equipment in the SICU. The DB Team will coordinate all requirements for the project and coordinate the removal of existing dialysis stations and the installation of the new wall box stations. The DB team will coordinate the installation of the new wall box dialysis stations. Option 2 - SCI: Install Under Sink Counter Piping The DB Team will use applicable statutes, codes, and VA design standards to develop construction drawings and specifications and to complete installation of the dialysis water supply and drain system to be installed under existing sink counters at the SCI building. The DB Team will coordinate all requirements for the project. The DB team will coordinate the installation of the new drain lines, hot and cold water supplies and mixing valves to be used by the portable dialysis equipment. The VA has scheduled an organized site visit for this project on July 26, 2010 at 10:00 am at the VA Medical Center, Facility Engineering Service, Project Section, Room BR-145. Solicitation and scope of work documents will NOT to be available at www.fbo.gov. Prospective offerors may request solicitation documents by submitting an e-mail request to Michael.owen@va.gov. Telephone requests will NOT be honored. In accordance with the VA Acquisition Regulations (VAAR 836.204) Disclosure of the Magnitude of Construction Projects, the range for this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. Liquidated Damages: $200.00 per calendar day, including holidays and weekends. NAICS 238220 - $33.5M applies. Project duration is anticipated to be 120 days from Notice to Proceed. Offerors are to complete and submit their proposals (original required) not later than Monday, August 16, 2010 at 4:30 p.m. CT.
