Description
The work consists of rehabilitation and reconstruction of selected building roofs at four different sites with 1 additional optional site on Forest Service land. Work includes but is not limited to the following major items: Pinehurst Work Center (Hume Lake Ranger District): • Removal and disposal of the existing roofing material (corrugated steel) and any fascia or deck boards to be replaced. • Furnishing and installing new 5/8" OSB roof decking. • Furnishing and installing new fascia boards as required. • Furnishing and installing builders felt or other approved metal roofing underlayment. • Furnishing and installing metal roofing including all attachments, trim, and roof penetration boots/gaskets on engine bay building number 2205. Springville Work Center (Western Divide Ranger District)): • Removal and disposal of the existing roofing material (asphalt shingles) and any fascia or deck boards to be replaced. • Inspecting and replacing damaged, excessively warped, delaminated, or rotted plywood roof decking. • Furnishing and installing new fascia boards as required. • Furnishing and installing builders felt or other approved composite roofing underlayment. • Furnishing and installing roofing including all attachments, trim, and roof penetration boots/gaskets on residence building number 1017 and barracks building number 1479. Uhl Work Center (Western Divide Ranger District): • Removal and disposal of the existing roofing material (cedar shingles) and any fascia or deck boards to be replaced. • Inspecting and replacing damaged, excessively warped, delaminated, or rotted plywood roof decking. • Furnishing and installing new fascia boards as required. • Furnishing and installing builders felt or other approved metal roofing underlayment. • Furnishing and installing roofing including all attachments, trim, and roof penetration boots/gaskets on office building number 2007. Blackrock Work Center (Kern River Ranger District): • Removal and disposal of the existing roofing material (shingles) and any fascia or deck boards to be replaced. • Inspecting and replacing damaged, excessively warped, delaminated, or rotted plywood roof decking. • Furnishing and installing new fascia boards as required. • Furnishing and installing builders felt or other approved metal roofing underlayment. • Installing Government Furnished roofing including all attachments, trim, and roof penetration boots/gaskets on generator building number 1608 and gas house building number 2514. • Cutting off, trimming, and disposal of rafter tails on building numbers 2514, 1608, 1357, 1356, and 1372. • Cleaning and sealing exposed ends of rafter tails on building numbers 2514, 1608, 1357, 1356, and 1372. Porterville Work Center: (Optional) • Removal and disposal of the existing roofing material (corrugated steel) and any fascia or deck boards to be replaced. • Inspecting and replacing damaged, excessively warped, delaminated, or rotted plywood roof decking. • Furnishing and installing new fascia boards as required. • Furnishing and installing builders felt or other approved metal roofing underlayment. • Furnishing and installing metal roofing including all attachments, trim, and roof penetration boots/gaskets on open shed building number 2303, radio shop building number 2208, and welding shop building number 2101. SPECIAL NOTE: This project is located at existing fully operational Work Centers used by many Forest Service employees. The Contractor shall keep his equipment and work areas confined to the areas shown on the attached location maps and drawings. At no time shall the Contractor prevent fire personnel or other employees from accessing the workstation to gather materials or supplies, or to perform their assigned work. Contractor's vehicles shall be kept out of the way of the parking lot traffic flow to allow Forest Service employees access to all utilities. The Contractor may not enter or have access to any of the other buildings located at the Work Centers not related to this project. At no time shall the Contractor use the site for recreational purposes or have personnel or people living and using the site who are not working on the project. No pets of any kind will be allowed to live at or hang around the Pinehurst, Springville, Uhl, Blackrock, and Porterville Work Centers. The Contractor shall provide an on-site portable toilet for the Contractors employee's use. A pre-bid tour will be conducted. Information regarding the date and time of the pre-bid tour will be provided in the solicitation when issued. The price range of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. The estimated contract time is 130 calendar days. Estimated start work date is September 7,, 2010. Issue date is approximately July 27, 2010 with a closing date of approximately August 26, 2010. This project is being issued unrestricted.
