- Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Construction and Facilities Management (CFM), Washington, DC is issuing this Sources Sought to identify potential small, bondable, and experienced businesses such as: (1) Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB): (2) Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB); (3) 8(a) contractors, (4) HUBZone Small Businesses, (5) Women Owned Small Businesses (WOSB), (6) and/or Small Disadvantaged Businesses (SDB) that are capable of meeting this construction requirement. The construction need is relative to Project No. 673-342 entitled James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa, Florida “ Interim Polytrauma Renovation of 5-north in Tampa, Florida. This project will require the complete renovation of 5-north. Initial will consist of demolition of all partitions, ceilings, and MEP down to the existing structural beams under level IV, asbestos abatement. Exterior construction consists of window replacement. Interior construction consists of new wall partitions, flooring, and ceilings. MEP work consists of installing a new air handler, duct work, medical gasses, plumbing, fire alarm and electrical work. The 14-bed wing will be fully sprinklered and connected to the existing fire protection system. Nurse call system, telecommunications and data rough-in is included. The new space is in compliance with the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards (UFAS) and PG-18-13 in all areas. The estimated cost range for this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 236220 and the small business size standard is $33.5 Million. The award of a firm fixed-price construction contract is anticipated. Interested bondable small businesses having the skills and capabilities necessary to perform the stated requirements are invited to provide information to contribute to this sources sought announcement. Responses must include the following information: (1) Company name, address, point of contact with phone number and e-mail address; (2) Business size determination and qualifying small business status; (3) Bonding capacity (from surety); and (4) Construction experience of similar projects in size, scope and dollar amount (minimum 3). You are required to E-mail your responses to Brian Johnson Contract Specialist (Intern) at Brian.Johnson@va.gov no later than 4:00 pm EDT on July 20, 2010 and in the subject line state James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa, FL and Company Name. Please note that this is not a request for proposal (RFP) and the government is only seeking information for market research purposes only.
