Description
Amendment to solicitation SB1341-10-RQ-0495 Supercontinuum Fiber Laser Source. The above referenced solicitation is hereby amended to respond to technical questions submitted, incorporate technical changes, and extend the due date for quotations. 1) Technical questions and responses are hereby provided: QUESTION #1: Please clarify specification #3? RESPONSE #1: Stability should be such that the average output power is stable to within 1% over a period of time exceeding the input pulse-to-pulse period. QUESTION #2: Is a diameter of more than 5 micrometers as it exits the fiber acceptable? RESPONSE #2: Specification #4 does not limit that beam diameter at the point where it exits the fiber, but rather where it exits the phonic crystal part of the fiber. For more clarification, a sealed end solution is acceptable and would not modify the effective mode diameter as long as the sealed end has specular transmittance as opposed to diffuse transmittance. 2) The following changes are hereby incorporated to the specifications under Line Item 0001. 2.1) Specification #3 changed to read as follows: From: Stability shall be such that the power in successive pulses is within 1% of each other. To: Stability shall be such that the average output power is stable to within 1% over a period of time exceeding the input pulse-to-pulse period. 3) The due date for quotations is hereby extended to 3:00 PM eastern time, on July 14, 2010.
