- Description
- The US Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District, is soliciting for a construction project to replace the existing National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration water level gauging station in Algonac, MI. The existing water level gauging station is located on the southwest corner of the site and the new gauging station is to be constructed on the north side of the site without interruption of service to the existing gauging station. The work to be included in this contract shall include, but not be limited to: preparation of the site; construction of a wet-well for pre-cast components; installation of water intake pipe to the St. Clair River; laying of slab foundation and construction of masonry building; installation of membrane roof; installation of electrical panel, wiring, and outlets; obtaining electrical and phone service to the gauge house. The existing steel sheet pile wall cannot be loaded, so all work must be done from a barge. General Information: Location: Algonac, Michigan. This project is solicited as a 100% small business set-aside. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this requirement is 236210. The small business size standard for this requirement is $33.5 million in average annual receipts over the past three years. The estimated construction cost is between $250,000 and $500,000. The estimated solicitation posting date is 3 August 2010. The estimated award date of the contract is 15 September 2010. The contract will have a 12 month completion requirement.
