Description
This is a notice of intent, not a request for a proposal. A solicitation document will not be issued and proposals will not be requested. National Institute on Drug Abuse, Station Support/Simplified Acquisition, Office of Acquisitions- Neurosciences, on behalf of the National Institute on Mental Health intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a non-competitive basis to Lafayette Instruments, 3700 Sagamore Parkway North-PO Box 5729, Lafayette, IN 47904 for Eight (8) Bussey-Saksida Touch Screen Test Systems with speaker & house lights, Eight (8) Peristaltic Pump, Eight (8) ambulatory I/R/ Photo beams, Eight (8) 5 meter cable sets for Bussey Style Chambers, Eight (8) Mask-1 for Mouse Visual Discrimination, Eight (8) Mask-4 for Mouse 5 Control Computer/Interface & Software, Two (2) 4- Station Rodent Touch CPU Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse and UPD, Two (2) Interface PCI to 4 CHM 8in/8out per chamber, One (1) ABERT II Touch Screen Operant, Eight (8) Whisker MM for Single Sation License ABET II, One (1) Visual Discrimination for ABET II Touch, One (1) 5CSRT for Touch Screen ABET II, and On Site Installation and training. Lafayette Instruments is the only known source for mouse behavioral equipment with an operant touch screen apparatus. Such an apparatus can be used across a wide range of mouse models which requires lower motor skills since the mouse stays in one location. The acquisition is being conducted using FAR part 13.106-1(b)(1) procedures and is exempt from the requirements of FAR part 6, competition requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government.
