Description
This is an amendment to Solicitation NIHOF2010JM233. There is one amendment to the solicitation and there are responses to questions that were received. There was an error located in Section B.9.1 and therefore has been amended. Section B.9.1 is deleted and replaced with: "B.9.1 All technicians directly engaged in the work to be accomplished under the FFP portion of the contract shall possess, prior to their employment in a journeyman mechanic's capacity on this contract, certification such as Allen-Bradley (ABB) or a comparably certification." Question 1: What criteria (i.e. asset life, parts availability, etc.) will be used in determining whether a VFD will be repaired or replaced? Response: The age of VFD and the repair history. Question 2: Should a problem be found with the interface between the VFD and the existing building automation system (BAS), who's responsibility will the repair be, and is this to be included in this bid? Response: BAS contractor has the responsibility. In Section B, CLINs 0009, 1009, 2009, 3009, and 4009 have a Government estimate of $400,000 for parts/materials for VFD repairs/replacements. Question 3: When a VFD is slated for replacement, will contractor be responsible for disposal of the old drive? Response: Sometimes. Question 4: Will there be any space available for storage of spare parts? Response: Not likely. Question 5: Will there be any space available on either campus for service contractor to perform any troubleshooting, PM, etc? Response: Only at the Unit Location. Question 6: Are VFD repair and replacement certifications, such as Allen-Bradley (ABB), considered acceptable? Response: Yes or comparably certifications. There are no other amendments to this solicitation.
