Description
As part of the CDUM Research and Development initiative, DSCP purchased and installed a 3D Body Scanner machine at Lackland AFB to measure recruits for proper sizing and to record such data for future forecasting. This initiative has been useful in determining proper sizing and has assisted in stock positioning. At the conclusion of the R&D effort, C&T gave the body scanner machine to Lackland AFB which was being utilized by military personnel until several years ago. At this point in time, C&T wants to reuse the 3D Body Scanner for stock repositioning and forecasting purposes. However, in order to continue to use this equipment the machine needs to be inspected, software update, calibrated and maintained on a yearly basis. The 3D Body Scanner requires specialized software and technologies that were designed and installed by Human Solutions of North America; therefore, making the 3D Body Scanner proprietary. In accordance with FAR 6.302-1, Human Solutions is the only known capable source of responding to the specialized nature of the 3D Body Scanner, providing the necessary support to successfully inspect, calibrate and more importantly update the software needed to get the 3D Body Scanner running again. There are no substitutes for this requirement and Human Solutions is the only firm with the known capability to assist in the software update and maintenance. Anticipated award shall result in a firm fixed price order with a 1 year base period and 2, one (1) year option periods.
