Description
This action has been awarded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act(ARRA)of 2009. In compliance with this Act, the Government posts this notice that TaskOrder (TO) 48 was issued under contract NNJ08JB01C, the Environmental Contract, toprocure environmental services in support of the JSC Building 16E and 48 Roof Replacementfunded by the Recovery Act. The environmental services include technical support such astransportation and disposal of Industrial Solid Waste (asbestos containing material, leadwaste etc.) and project oversight. In addition modification 108 was issued for fundingTask Order 48. <P>The Environmental Contract was awarded on a competitive basis. These Task Orders wereissued under the cost-type contract arrangement in accordance with the contract. Acost-type arrangement is appropriate due to uncertainties involved in contractperformance that do not permit costs to be estimated with sufficient accuracy to use anytype of fixed-price contract. In addition, a cost-type contract was selected to providethe contractor the greatest incentive for efficient and economical performance, given thetypes of services to be performed. This Environmental Contract has experienced personneland documented performance to mitigate the Government's risk. In order to meet therequirements of the Recovery Act in the most prudent business manner, with the timeconstraints imposed, the existing Environmental Contract is the most appropriatecontractual vehicle for the work required.
