Description

Sole Source Justification THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT, NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES. A SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND QUOTES WILL NOT BE REQUESTED. The National Institutes of Health intends to issue a task order on a sole source basis with: Applied Biosystems, LLC; 850 Lincoln Centre Drive Foster City, CA 94404-1128. No solicitation exists for this for this requirement. This service is commercial as defined in FAR Part 2. The total contracted dollar amount will not exceed the Simplified Acquisition Threshold; therefore it will be procured under FAR 13.106. It is believed that Applied Biosystems, LLC is the sole source for this requirement under the authority of FAR Parts 13.106-1 (b). The National Eye Institute will procure a SOLID 3 Plus Analyzer System. A Sole Source justification is attached. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 334516 and the sixe standard is $7,000. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotes preparation. Any firm that believes it can provide the stated capability within the established time frame is invited to submit written notification to the Contract Specialist by July 6th, 2010 at 1:00 PM EST. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the firm’s ability to provide the stated capability. Information can be sent to the Contract Specialist, Aleise Roberts at aleiser@od.nih.gov. No telephone request will be accepted. Responses received will be evaluated; however a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the NIH will proceed with the sole source task order.
