Exhibit 4 - Trail Logs Combined Exhibit 3 - Design Paramenters - Hike Bike Horse Exhibit 2 - Map Exhibit 1 - Drawings Attachment 2 - Wage Determination Attachment 1 - Specifications & SOW Sections C thru M - Solicitation Section B - Schedule of Items Section A - SF1449 *Recovery* This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice and in accordance with the simplified acquisition procedures authorized in FAR Part 13. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a Request for Proposal (RFP). Submit written quotes on RFP Number AG-4419-S-10-0755. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-33. This solicitation is being issued as a 100% Total Small Business Set-Aside. The associated NAICS code is 115310, Support Activities for Forestry. Price range: Between $25,000 and $100,000 The USDA - Forest Service intends to award a Firm Fixed price Contract for the following project: Panthertown Trails, Nantahala National Forest, North Carolina Work to be Performed: Base bid items include maintenance to be performed on 1.9 miles of existing hiking and horse trails. Bid optional items include maintenance on an additional 1.3 miles of hiking and horse trail. Maintenance work is to bring trails up to current USDA Forest Service trail standards. Work will include, but may not be limited to, trail tread restoration; cleaning/installing grade dips, de-berming, out-sloping, and restoring positive drainage; brushing vegetation, logging-out, and removal of hazard trees; obliteration of user-created trail-heads; replacing/installing steps and cribbing; and installing turnpike and/or armoring wet areas and approaches to stream crossings. ========================================================= IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION ========================================================= An organized site visit has been scheduled for: Date: July 15, 2010 Time: 9:30 am EST Those interested in attending will meet at: Cold Mountain Gap Trailhead Parking Lot ( This is the trailhead near Devils Elbow Trail) Directions: To the East Entrance (Cold Mountain Gap) From Asheville: Take I-240 West to I-26 East to the Asheville Airport, exit 40. Turn right onto NC 280; follow this for 16 miles to Brevard. At the intersection with US 64/276, continue straight onto this dual highway. In downtown Breavard, US 276 heads right; stay straight on US 64. US 64 bears right after passing through brevard. Follow US 64 for about 15 miles (it becomes very curvy) to the intersection with NC 281; turn right. See below. From Highlands: Follow US 64 East to Cashiers. 13 miles past the stoplight in Cashiers, just past the Lake Toxaway dam, turn left on NC 281. See below. Once you are on NC 281, go 0.8 miles and turn left on Cold Mountain Road (the fire station is on the right). Proceed just under 6 miles up Cold Mountain Road; the road turns to gravel. At a sharp left turn, a sign will indicate the Panthertown parking is just ahead. It is 0.1 mile from the sharp left turn to a gravel road on the right signed for the parking area; the road is about 0.1 mile long and the parking area is just a wide spot at the end of the road.
