Description
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest in Georgia is proposing to control nonnative invasive species of plants (NNIS) with a combination of mechanical and herbicide treatments on approximately 190 acres. Work completed for this contract will occur in sites on the Conasauga, Blue Ridge, Chattooga River, and Oconee Ranger Districts. The intention of this solicitation is to award a single award for all Districts. However, if it is the best interests of the Government, more than one contract may result from this solicitation. The project will require various NNIS treatments entailing any or all of the following methods; chainsaw or cutting of trees, shrubs, and woody vines with application of herbicide to the cut surface; foliar spray; and mowing. Mowing would typically be used at certain times of the year for plants such as Japanese stilt grass along roadsides and tall fescue in wildlife openings. Factors such as species to be controlled and locations of the populations will determine the treatment methods. A current Georgia Pesticide Contractor License and Commercial Applicator License is required. All contractor crew leaders must be certified to apply herbicides in the state of Georgia and must be on-site at all times (Georgia State Pesticide Applicator's license). Crew leaders must be certified in the category related to the project (e.g. Forestry, Aquatics, Right-of -Ways). Documentation of certification must be provided with quote. Contract time is 1 year and 6 months. SITE SHOWING: A site showing will be conducted. Exact information will be included in the solicitation. PROJECT LOCATION: The project is located on the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest. The Forest-wide Districts include the Conasauga, Blue Ridge, Chattooga River and Oconee Ranger Districts in Banks, Greene, Habersham, Jasper, Murray, Rabun, Stephens, and Towns Counties, Georgia. ESTIMATE COST RANGE: between $25,000 and $100,000. This project is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS, SPECIFICATIONS, AND DRAWINGS: The solicitation, AG-435H-S-10-0017 and related documents will be issued via FedBizOpps as a request for quotes and will be available for downloading on or about July 15, 2010 at the website address: http://www.fedbizopps.gov/ All vendors are required to be registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) prior to award of a contract, http://www.ccr.gov/
