THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS THAT WERE PREQUALIFIED. This procurement is for renovation, restoration and construction services for the Smithsonian Institution's Arts & Industries Building Revitalization - Shell (OFEO Project No. 0815102), located at 1000 Jefferson Drive, SW, Washington, DC. The North American Industry code (NAICS) is 236220 and the annual size standard is $33.5 million. Estimated price range is between 35M and 40M. It is the intent of the Smithsonian Institution to award a firm fixed price construction contract to the offeror whose proposal is in the best interest of the Smithsonian Institution. It is anticipated that the Request for Proposal will be issued on or about July 7, 2010. The following four (4)Contractors have been selected to submit a proposal for the AIB Revitalization-Shell: (1)The Christman Company, 901 North Pitt Street, Suite 230, Alexandria, VA 22314; (2)Gilbane Building Company, 7901 Sandy Spring Road, Suite 500, Laurel, MD 20707; (3)Coakley & Williams Construction, Inc., 16 South Summit Avenue, Suite 300, Gaithersburg, MD 20877; and (4)Grunley Construction Company, Inc., 15020 Shady Grove Road, Suite 500, Rockville, MD 20850.
