Description
RECOVERY - The United States Section of the International Boundary and Water Commission (USIBWC) requires removal, disposal, and replacement of ten (10) radial gates on American Dam. New radial gates shall be manufactured and then installed on the dam replacing the old radial gates. American Dam is located on the Rio Grande in El Paso, Texas. American Dam is wholly within the territory of the United States and can be located at Google Earth Coordinates 31 0 47' 03.37" N, 106 o 31' 41.17" W. The physical address of the dam is, 2616 W. Paisano, El Paso, Texas 79926. The new radial gates shall be installed in accordance with drawings and specifications provided by USIBWC. The new gates shall be installed between the piers of the dam. The openings between the piers is twenty (20) feet. The new radial gates shall be 20' by 8', the same dimension as the old gates. In addition to replacing the old gates with new, the old side plates and floor sills for each opening (10 opening in total) shall removed and replaced with new stainless steel side plates and floor sills. Installing the side plates and floor sills requires that the Contractor remove the old side plates and floor sills embedded in concrete then replace the old side plates and floor sills with new. American Dam is used to divert irrigation water to the El Paso Valley. Work installing the gates at American Dam will be conducted during the non-irrigation season, which is between the months of October thru February when very little flow is in the channel. The manufacture of the gates can be done during anytime of the year. Installing the gates will be conducted in the dry season; USIBWC will divert any flow in the channel way from the work area. The cost of the project is in the range of $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. This is a Small Business Set-Aside. Performance Period is an estimated 200 calendar days (the final solicitation may indicate a different performance period). All offers from responsible bidders will be considered.
