Description
The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City (NSWC-PC) has a requirement to acquire maintenance support packages for the Cybernetic Parachute Release System (CYPRES 1) Automatic Activation Devices (AAD) {CYPRES 2 2-PIN 1500'/35 m/s AAD (p/n AAD2C2M1535A)}. The CYPRES 1 and CYPRES 2 are used to support Military Free Fall Parachutists. Contractor support is also required to manufacture 158 power assemblies to support CYPRES 1 and CYPRES 2. Upon receipt of the equipment by NSWC PCD, the items will be shipped out to fleet units. The items and support being acquired can only be procured from SSK Industries by direction of the Marine Corp Systems Command (MARCORPSYSCOM). The items being procured form a highly specialized airborne delivery system which has undergone extensive testing and qualification under the MARCORPSYSCOM Parachuting Authority. Each part has been tested to perform to rigid requirements as specified in Marine Corp Order (MCO) 3500.20A for Marine Corp Parachuting and Diving Policy and Program Administration. Only those articles which have been successfully tested are qualified. The objective of this process is to verify that the system provides acceptable levels of safety and mission critical support throughout the system specific operating range. The intent of the process is to provide maximum reasonable assurance that the mission can be completed and an accident will not occur. The CYPRES 1 and CYPRES 2 are exclusively manufactured by SSK Industries, are the only items authorized for use by the U.S. Marine Corp. NAICS Code 423990. FSC 7045. Small Business Size Standard is 500 employees. Anticipated award date will be on or about 23 July 2010. Delivery will be to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division, 110 Vernon Ave, Panama City, FL 32407-7001
