Statement of Work Project Title: Hemodynamic Actuated Acquisiti on and Analysis System Department: Critical Care Medicine Department, CC, NIH Background The Critical Care Medicine Department in the clinical cente r of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) provides clinic al ICU services and performs research across a spectrum of a reas providing a bench to bedside approach to medical resear ch. Sepsis, a systemic infection with a 35% mortality resul ting in over 220,000 deaths annually is studied in several p reclinical models. These studies, in determining the effecti veness of various treatment modalities, measure hemodynamic parameters, blood gas levels, and chemistry as well as, cyto kines, genomic and proteomic markers. Purpose The purpose of this requirement is to provide to the Critic al Care Medicine Department equipment for performing hemodyn amic measures as well as hemodynamic triggered treatment del ivery capability. The purpose of the proposed equipment pur chase is to provide a more sophisticated approach to determi ning effective treatment options by more closely simulating treatments used clinically. Specifically, the system would a llow us to automatically trigger fluid or vasopressor infusi ons in response to a predefined pressure being measured. In the current system, a snap shot of hemodynamic measures may be collected with a maximum of 16 channels at a time. The n ew system would allow us to make continuous measures across 12 channels maximizing the potential for observing changes o ver time. The addition of this system in conjunction with co nverting an existing lab space into a second lab for rat exp eriments would allow us to significantly expand throughput o f our currently approved research protocols using current pe rsonnel, thus, more efficiently utilizing our available spac e and personnel. Scope of Work The vendor shall supply a complete hemodynamic system that will integrate into our current research configuration. Minimum Specifications - Acquisition and analysis of cardiovascular paramet ers- - All blood pressure measurement parameters for arter ial pressure traces - All blood pressure measurement parameters for venou s pressure traces - Heart rate - 12 pressure channels - Real-time record over periods of 24 hrs - Based on a single computer - One year warranty Desirable Features - Automated pressure controlled fluid delivery syste m Required Delivery Date The Government required delivery date is September 30, 2010.
